OUR
HISTORY
Over 125 years of passion, glory, and the beautiful game. This is the story of Barça
The Club is Born
On November 29, 1899, Joan Gamper founded FC Barcelona with a group of Swiss, English, and Spanish footballers. A club born of diversity — from the very start, Més que un Club.
First Spanish Championship
Barça claimed their first Copa del Rey title, beginning a long-lasting tradition of silverware and a hunger for glory that would define the club’s identity for over a century.
La Liga Inaugural Champions
When Spain’s top flight was born, FC Barcelona was crowned its very first champion — a fitting beginning for the club that would go on to dominate Spanish football.
Camp Nou Opens
The legendary Spotify Camp Nou — then simply Camp Nou — opened its gates on September 24, 1957. With a capacity of over 99,000, it became the largest stadium in Europe.
The Cruyff Revolution
Johan Cruyff arrived and changed everything. His Total Football philosophy ignited a new era of beautiful, attacking play that would shape Barcelona’s identity for generations.
The Dream Team
Under Johan Cruyff as manager, the legendary Dream Team won Barça’s first-ever European Cup at Wembley. Koeman’s thunderbolt free-kick is etched into history forever.
100 Years of Glory
FC Barcelona celebrated its centenary, honouring 100 years of culture, history, and football excellence. The club stood proud as one of the world’s greatest sporting institutions.
The Historic Treble
Under Pep Guardiola, with Messi, Xavi, and Iniesta at the peak of their powers, Barça won La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the Champions League — the first Spanish club to achieve the treble.
The Second Treble
Luis Enrique’s side repeated the impossible — a second treble. Messi, Suárez, and Neymar formed the most feared attacking trident in world football history: MSN.
A New Era Begins
Under Xavi Hernández, a new golden generation emerges. Pedri, Gavi, and Lamine Yamal carry the torch forward — the next chapter of Barça’s story is being written now.
